Chippa confident of three points against TS Galaxy - Hanamub

- VUYOKAZI NKANJENI

Chippa United defender Riaan Hanamub says they will treat their Dstv Premiership fixture against TS Galaxy like it is their last match of the season.

The match will take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium with the kick-off time set for 3.30pm on Saturday.

Chippa will go into the match with a one point cushion following their 1-1 draw to Bloemfontein Celtic last weekend.

The point saw Chippa remain in 13th position on the log just five points away from the danger zone.

When the teams faced off in the first round of the league, it was Frédéric Nsabiyumva’s early goal which saw the Port Elizabeth side take all three points and walk out victorious.

It is expected that the Chilli Boys will be banking on home ground advantage.

But the Namibian-born 23year-old said they would not be complacent.

“TS Galaxy are a very good team, they are a hard-running team,” Hanamub said.

“They use their wide spaces, the wingers and the fullbacks push up real high and they bring in crosses.

“We have been training to deal with the wingers they will bring in and I am positive that we will get maximum points on Saturday.

“Playing at home doesn’t guarantee you three points.

“Even though you are playing at home you need to work hard. You need to grind and fight for the three points like it’s your last game.

“I know it’s an advantage to play at home, but that should not take our focus away from the three points and for us to be reluctant.

“So we are going to play and fight with all that we have to make sure that we get the three points,” he said.

Speaking on their previous result against Celtic, Hanamub said Chippa did not get the points they deserved in the match.

However, he said the team was grateful for the point away from home.

Despite not being totally satisfied with the result, the defender said there were some positives to take from the Siwelele match.

“This week we have been working on pushing the defence up into the halfway line and on a bit of scoring,” he said.
