- RICOFFY GETS A ROASTING BORDER LINES LICENCE TO CHILL? VACCINATION COLLABORATION

Almost 13 000 customers signed up to a Pick n Pay digital receipts pilot programme earlier this year. An additional 7 000 customers opted in to receive digital receipts within a few days of the campaign being launched to Smart Shoppers at the end of October.

“Many till receipts land up in landfills, as they are often lost in rubbish bins and not recycled. This new Smart Shopper initiative will significantly reduce till slip litter by sending customers their receipt digitally, and only printing a small summary slip at the check-out as proof of purchase,” the company said.

South Africa has brandnew regulations on what can and can’t be called coffee. And while these new regulations allow some chicory drinks to still market themselves as a “coffee mixture”, our beloved Ricoffy does not make the grade. Despite its name, Ricoffy cannot market itself as a coffee, a “mixed coffee”, a “coffee mixture” or a chicory-and-coffee drink because of its makeup – it is only one quarter coffee and only 32.5% chicory.

Exports from South Africa to the rest of Africa through the Beitbridge border post have slowed to a trickle over the past two weeks. The delays are said to be related to the new Covid-19 clearance procedures by Port Health in

South Africa.

The SABC wants you to pay TV licence fees for watching content on laptops, tablets, IPTV, the internet, decoders, set-top boxes and smartphones. The SABC’s head of TV licences, Sylvia Tladi, said that to ensure compliance with legislative requirements for the payment of TV licence fees, the SABC was proposing that the Act (on TV licencing fees) should place “stricter obligations on all relevant stakeholders ... because the traditional television set is no longer the only means of receiving a television broadcast...

The SABC is of the view that other entities must be compelled to report on the sale, lease or usage of these

‘television sets’ or ‘viewing devices’.”
