RODNEY WILKINSON SABOTAGED THEN, THE ANC DOES IT NOW
The Editor,
So Mr Rodney Wilkinson has no regrets about his sabotage of Koeberg in 1982 and the loss of R500-million as well as the delay of 18 months he caused. He appears well satisfied with his contribution to the “struggle”.
It appears that he fails to realise that he caused this damage to the country and all its citizens and set back the electricity supply to all of them by 18 months. The large majority of the population was black and they were the greatest sufferers as their hope of having any electricity was set back by 18 months and the money lost would probably have helped finance the provision of electricity to them.
At the time of his heroic act of sabotage Eskom was a profitable and well run national electricity supplier that had Koeberg built to improve electricity supply countrywide.
It appears the ANC, when it received power in 1994, was so impressed by Mr Wilkinson’s effort that they immediately set out to follow his example and proved themselves eager and able pupils, as is proved by the present state of Eskom. He only sabotaged one power station. They were able to destroy within 25 years the complete organisation. Other SoEs were also ably sabotaged. Of course, the people now have more freedom than ever before and they exercise it daily with “peaceful protest action” against the local, provincial and national government for failing to furnish the “service delivery” as promised by the ANC.
Who is it that is sabotaging the water supply and the electricity supply and the sewerage in this country now?
I take it that it is not Mr Wilkinson? Willem de Haan
