Disruption to water supplies
THE water supply to some areas in eThekwini’s Outer West and Pietermaritzburg will be disrupted from Thursday morning.
EThekwini spokeswoman, Tozi Mthethwa, said that essential work needed to be done on the Midmar Dam raw water pump station.
“In order for this work to be executed quickly and effectively, raw water supply from the Midmar Dam to the Midmar water works and DV Harris Water Treatment Plant will have to be shut for an estimated 30-hour period.”
The work was expected to be be completed by Friday afternoon.
Areas to be affected are: Ntukuso, Mpuma, Imbozama, Sthumba, Amatata, Bhobhonono, Madwaleni, Gezanyoni, eMvini, Panekeni, Nonoti, Diphini, Qhodela, Denge, Gasa Section, Umlahlanja, Siweni, Rietvallei, Othweba, Harare 1, Cuphulaka, Mngcweni, Harare 2, Harrison, KwaCele, Cato Ridge, Esikhelekehleni, Inchanga Park.
