Critical to improve quality of CCTV images for crime fight

Gigaba talks about transforming the economic landscape by making everything black. Eskom is just one example how this government takes what was working well and transformed it into a disaster. Is that how he plans to radically transform the economy? If he has mentality, he should be saying let’s see how we can employ people on merit to transform our economy into a success, where there is no unemployment and poverty and people rise through hard work and not patronage. We have seen in many African countries how transformation has failed because those in power simply just don’t have the capacity to manage.
Mr Zuma, you cannot investigate yourself, therefore the outsourcing for transparency. Joe Soap.
Plz could the powers be, come to kwaDukuza (Stanger) and see the performances of services to its residents. The roads are virtually finished with a million potholes, street lights not working, daily water cuts, lazy municipality ground staff that pass the days, unchecked for work performed. Resident.
Kevin Govender
Kevin Govender obviously got his news about the Garbh Vigyan Sanskar Project from one of his Christian blogs or online publications. Or this is either fake news or distortion by one or more of the many foreign-owned English newspapers in India. However, true or not, is it only in India does one get behaviour and actions that “devalue human life”? What about the racism in South Africa among all groups, including people in his Indian Christian community? Racist and other outrageous behaviour and incidents from Australia, New Zealand, China, Malaysia, Britain, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Africa, Middle East etc are completely overlooked by Independent Newspapers. They only target India and the USA. Why? And often they do not grant readers a right to reply.
According to Kevin Govender (D/N, 19 May), Devaluating human lives, in India there is a group called “Garbh Vigyan Sanskar Project ”. Fascinating: first ever group to be called a ….project! Sanskrit: Garbh means uterus; Vigyan means knowledge; sanskar cannot be adequately translated into English, but loosely translated means tradition, culture, moral norms, values, ethics or practice. So how on earth can Uterus-knowledge tradition or practice be the name of a group? The centres are called Garbh Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra (Centre for Knowledge in Pregnancy and Childbearing) and the practice is part of Ayurvedic tradition. Sanskrit: Uttam is ‘the best’; santati is “offspring/ progeny”. Shuddhikaran means: the act or operation of cleansing ceremonially e.g. guilt, sin, desires, appetites and inclinations. Or the act of purifying such as separating and removing from anything that which is impure or noxious, or heterogeneous or foreign to it e.g. the purification of liquors, or of metals etc. Hence, Shuddhikaran does not mean ‘purification of the womb’. Yes, there is purification of body and mind in accordance with Ayurveda. Nothing of eugenics or Hitler. So who is misrepresenting Ayurveda here: Kevin Govender, his media source or some nutcase?
Robberies
Hammer gang caught on mall CCTV. I have noticed that the pictures from the CCTV are always not clear. I am sure something can be done about this. What is the use of installing an expensive item when the footage is not clear. I am sure with modern technology, things can be better. Just checking. Camel.
The mall robbers are having a field day because the HAWKS, SAPS and IPID are more concerned about fighting amongst themselves. Only can happen under ANC rule.
Odds and ends
For those of you that think that there’s nothing wrong with a teacher grooming or having sex with an underage pupil… will you allow your 14-yearold daughter to have sex with her teacher? Daloo.
Who is chopping down the light-poles on the M19 N2 interchange? Every day more are chopped down. Has the municipality not investigated this? Someone is sleeping, as usual.
Can you imagine if cars are made to fly what’s going to happen? Currently drivers have no respect for road rules. They ignore traffic lights and many other traffic signs. They drive anywhere and everywhere disregarding road markings. What will happen in the sky? No markings. No lanes. You can drive as you want to. With all this our country’s accident rate is going to increase by how much is unimaginable. Flying cars and taxis are going to fall from the skies and with it dead bodies. Whoever wants to make flying cars and taxis must think about this seriously. The only benefit from this is SAA will close down and we won’t have to bail them out every time they run out of funds.
The 1-million taxpayers’ money spent on safety of Faith Mutambi’s children – her justification is she could not rely on police because ‘they are unreliable’ (almost her words) – so where does it leave us ordinary citizens? -:MSgo.
