Frustrated reader wants entire Metro Revenue staff fired

Pulling ads for negative reporting: Are we accelerating towards autocracy, or what? Does Zuma pay for those ads from his own pocket, or what? Is this the reason SABC never says anything evenly mildly against government, or what? ese.

The ANCYL can go to hell if they think we, Durban ratepayers, are going to sit back and allow our rates to be looted to sponsor any cockamamie youth programme cooked up by them. Ratepayers must stand together, take legal action if necessary, and nip this c**p in the bud. This useless motley bunch must get their ‘youth’ funds from their cANCer government. Our rates are not there for them to plunder!

Nathi Mthethwa says the ANC must stop advertising in the newspapers and other media that reports negatively about the ANC and JZ. Why, Minister Mthethwa? You don’t want the electorate to know about all the wrongdoings of your party’s members and the ANC government? I’m sure if the ANC and the government were not involved in any shady dealings there wouldn’t be a need to criticise them, Minister Mthethwa. I assume you are an intelligent man, and you should know this. You won’t have anything hide. You won’t have to stop advertising in the media. The media that keeps millions of us informed of the daily happenings in our country and how our government is performing in the everyday running of it. The truth is hurting, Minister Mthethwa, and ANC is feeling it.

Funny how “the more things change, the more they remain the same”. In present times the “C” words (Colonial, Colony or Colonists) are swearwords that are ammunition for every so-called politician who embraces a colonial religion. AK48.

The oncology crisis in KZN is another example of government incompetence. These are doctors with scarce skills, and their cries for help in the midst of the radiotherapy machine breakdown were ignored. The suits in the Department of Health (DOH) failed to realise that this handful of hardworking doctors, who had committed themselves to state health care, were their most valuable assets. If DOH was a listed company on the JSE, the CEO would be fired. Yet again, it’s the poor that are hardest hit. This is a human rights violation!

Proteas

Ha, ha, ha, what happened to the Protea fire? The fire got extinguished very quickly, Chokers. Now what happens to the coach? Does he get fired? That’s the trend in South Africa. EK.

Firstly, I love cricket and I love my country. But my suggestion for the Proteas is to not participate in international tournaments in the future. Rather let an emerging country take our spot. They’ll get eliminated at the same stage as us, but will gain more. The Proteas will be spared embarrassment and fans spared the misery. We would never lose anything, retain our number one ranking and players like AB can continue to make tons of runs when it doesn’t count, or when the IPL pays them handsomely. Also, was pretty frustrating to see players and staff all smiles in the change room while we were in dire straits.

If you want to change the Proteas’ fortunes, then appoint Shane Warne as the coach. They need mental toughening, and he’s just the man for the job. Vdak.

Who are we going to blame this time? I blame AB – reckless running caused him to be run out. After that it was like “monkey see, monkey do”, and before we knew it, we were all out for a total that, no matter how well we bowled, we were never going to win. Pathetic tournament and performance.

Odds and ends

Yes, very good idea to sponsor convicts with further education, while innocent people cannot afford this opportunity. Good move! James Smalberger has no right to say the perceptions we get are incorrect: yes, commit a crime and, guess what, your education is free!

Now that Hlaudi is gone from the SABC, I trust he will “pop up” in a stronger position elsewhere soon. AK 48.

I really admire the man who paid R150 000 to bring his cat to SA. That money is for vaccinations, cattery fees, etc – not just for the airfare. When you think of the billions getting wasted in this country on nonsense, that is small change. Only wish more people cared so much about their pets. Sir, I take my hat off to you. Val.

Roy is not the only one who cannot get through the Metro Revenue Department. I have tried for weeks now. Always engaged. I left messages about 2 weeks ago and still awaiting a call back. Once I held on for 49 minutes. It’s a sham! The whole of the revenue department should be replaced, starting at the top. It’s a gravy train. All play and no work. Fire the lot, I say! Ashlin.

?? ?? @Khetha: I feel some type of way about Benni McCarthy becoming a coach for a big club like #CTCFC. Is he ready? I suppose we’ll see how he fares.
