Some prefer to cast a vote rather than street shenanigans

I notice there are complaints from Malema that whites protest via air-conditioned offices and not on the streets. This learned gent should know we do not dance the toyi-toyi well and prefer the ballot box to street shenanigans where violence is often actively promoted. Sorry Julius, it’s not our way. VT.

South Africa is an interesting country. Many people are living in abject poverty but we are busy organising social cohesion conferences which, most of the time, are useless. The conference for 500 delegates cost nearly R2 million to organise. Tell me now, can we afford to throw away such a huge amount of money while many people go to bed with empty stomachs?

The R2m spent on the social cohesion conference that never took place is criminal, madam mayor. Do you know what this money could have bought? A home for unmarried mothers

ANC… Did the white man not teach us in school, the colonialists conned the Africans with liquor, cars, matches etc., in exchange for land. Today they say that they bought the land? History was written by the whites, taught to us through the Bantu education system, so please don’t make us believe that you were innocent. (M)

Odds and ends

William Saunderson-Meyer was absolutely spot on in a recent article on “white minority capital”. While whites in “the day” obviously benefited financially during apartheid, it is a lie to say whites today are the super wealthy. Most whites are middle-income earners and getting poorer like the rest of the population. Creating jobs will lift the people out of poverty. To achieve this we need a new government to be elected in 2019. CM.

Do you remember the Outsurance advert that excluded black Fathers in the Fathers’ Day Advertisement? Why are we not speaking about racism in the allocation of experts in SuperSport channel 203 whenever there’s live coverage of any European League games including Confederation Cup on, Champions League games and Monday Night Review? It’s only Whites and Coloureds who had played in British Premier League who are invited as experts. How many Africans are invited as experts but if it’s Afcon experts it is mainly Africans and PSL coaches? Is this not covert racism that disregards demographics in thesame way Outsurance does? Are African soccer experts not qualified and knowledgeable enough to analyse European and International soccer? If we are selective in fighting racism, we will not achieve a non-racial society envisaged in the Freedom Charter. Siyanda WakwaMhlongo, Kwadukuza.

Please can the relative authorities do something about the intersection between Erica, Iris and Robin Street in Kharwastan, Chatsworth. This intersection is a disaster waiting to happen. Every morning and afternoon this area is chaotic. Install a set of Robots or traffic circle. Now. Not after a serious incident. CP

I won a cash competition three months ago with a popular brand. Payment method was cash sent via Absa. Upon going to withdraw the cash. No cash was there and the bank teller could not help me. I advised the marketing company in April. Today they call to advise me that someone in Limpopo withdrew my winnings. They assume that my cell number is cloned. I checked with my cellphone provider. They can’t help me. Beware of winning cash and the cash send method. Can somebody please explain why cricketers have to wear sunglasses on the back of their caps instead of over over their eyes? Golfers seem to have the same affliction.

I’m sorry for the three people killed and the 17 people injured in the taxi on Friday. If our police did their job properly, these 20 people in the overloaded taxi would be at home today with their family. The people pay a fare to be seated, not to be packed in like sheep. The customer is always right. Don’t be forced to get into a taxi and report the driver to the owner, he will take action on the driver. Let’s stop these taxi accidents now. Please, a life is better than money. Buzz

My friend went to renew her Sassa card. She was told that there probably wouldn’t be pensions by the end of the year as there was not enough money. She was sent home without being given a chance to renew it. Please can anyone shed light on this? She said we would read about it in the papers.
