Appeal to public servants of high moral character to remain
Politics
Rumours of a coup in Zimbabwe are inevitable. Civil society, Zanu and opposition political parties stood no chance against the dictatorship of Mugabe and his cronies. SA may go the same way if the ANC can’t rope in Zuma quickly.
I always knew that the EFF had a total IQ of 45, but now I’m not so sure. Discussing the fees must fall report, a dumb-nut from EFF disagreeing with the report made this remark: “The poor will be forced to become artisans”. You dumb-nut, South Africa’s economy became great and strong only because of skilled artisans. Apart from a medical person, no economy can ever survive without artisans. So shut up if you do not know the meaning of artisans. You became a stupid politician simply because you met the requirement for the position, that is you have to be a preschool Dropout! Public servants of high value and standards must remain in the public service notwithstanding the political meddling. The Zuma era will end and we need morally high standard public servants to block corruption. It important that unions also support these public servants from occupational detriment.
Eskom
Eskom is reportedly bankrupt and retrenchments may follow. This is largely due to corruption, mismanagement and state capture over recent years. It’s shocking that despite all the evidence, no Gupta is being charged. Government employees in non-essential services may be next to be retrenched, and only a change of government or dramatic economic transformation can save this land.
We’re being blackmailed by the thieves at Eskom, just like the blackouts that were not to be… Also, if any cash needed, take it from their pensions and bonuses. Joe soap.
Odds and ends
If the Bafana Bafana team has players representative of all races… maybe it will gather the support of the whole nation… Dat’s the winning formula.
On SGBs... There are policy documents that clearly outline the role-functions and conditions under which SGBs are to operate in a school. If there is interference by any parent component, the principal has avenues open to seek opinion, intervention or even protection. Parent and educator components should, ideally, be partners in education. And if poor learner discipline is an issue, then there are ways to address that. As a school principal, I agree that some kids really do get out of hand, and some of their parents are part of the problem. One tactic I use is to get my SGB to tackle those problem parents. Curtailing functions of SGBs will not sort the root causes of problems... And in any case, the ruling party has political reasons for their proposals – not educational reasons. So, don’t be fooled, or misguided. Parents should never be seen as the enemy. Nash Singh.
In South Africa you will only survive if you’ve got money. I paid for my education at tertiary level for 3 years, but still no job as a graduate. Our government is a disgrace.
Always wondered how Roy Moodley owned so many racehorses with fees for upkeep being so high. Now I know zuumley. ds.
One Chatter suggested a name change to the Springbok rugby team. I have one: Booboks. Alan. Mr Dhayalan Moodley does not miss giving comments in most issues. Recently we had the case where a wrong corpse was delivered to a home and subsequently cremated. There was a huge uproar about that case. The reason for Mr Dhayalan Moodley not to comment on that case was that he works for an undertaker. Or else he would definitely have given his comments.
St Mary’s Hospital. As I am also a nurse, I wonder what would have happened to me if I was responsible for treating the black patient in that same manner. White Nurse.
With so many dangerous and lunatic drivers on our roads, the traffic authorities need to step up their game and show no mercy to bad drivers that endanger innocent lives. Kris.
Good luck to the person waiting for Telkom to repair their telephone and internet line. I reported a fault on September 29, and it was escalated on October 6th, yet I have still not heard from Telkom, despite my numerous calls to them.
