SA leadership in a disgusting state
THERE are growing incidences of disgusting leadership across the board in South Africa, as evidenced from the testimony at the ongoing Zondo commission of inquiry, as well as at the other commissions of inquiry into the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), and the NPA.
We have commission after commission, and sadly all are mostly related to the misuse of state resources in South Africa.
This mismanagement of public funds by unethical office bearers is clearly threatening the welfare of South Africans and compromising transformation, nation building and our fledgling democracy.
It has become clear that unscrupulous leadership and administration is broadly and grossly prevalent in both the public and private sectors of the economy.
For these reasons, I believe that corrupt office bearers, regardless of their level of sacrifice, specialisation or professional ability, should be immediately fired.
South Africa and its people are in dire need of leaders who will act on principle, values and rule of law, and value the philosophies that are enshrined in the Constitution.
Moreover, South Africa needs active and vigilant citizens to reinforce principled behaviour and ethical leadership in the private and public sectors in order to prevent corruption, tender-related fraud, nepotism and illegal business practices.
