Unions rule as Santaco gives government middle finger

SA wasn’t a powerhouse for all prior to 1994. In ’94 the GDP was $140bn, peaking at $416bn in 2011. From 2012-19 it declined to $358bn. Had this economy been free of government idiocracy since 1910, our GDP could be in the trillions US dollars.

Where are the street protests and toyi-toying against government and SOE corruption?

Former Prasa board chairperson Popo Molefe told the Zondo Commission that he informed ANC Top 6 that there was corruption. My question is: why inform the ANC because as far as I know, crime needs to be reported to the police?

COVID-19

The government’s policies regarding Covid-19 infections at government hospitals are most concerning. Private hospitals are always instructed to close down, desanitise, etc in the event of a single case of this virus. However, at government hospitals, all categories of staff have been instructed to still report for duty, thus exposing them to great risk of exposure. Why this dichotomy in policy? Why? May I add that there are outbreaks of this dreadful virus at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and more recently, at a Hillcrest government hospital. The public, staff and their families demand truthful answers from this government urgently. | UNKAL

Now that our babies are back in the classrooms, when are Angie (Motshekga) and her colleagues expected back in Parliament? They can be sanitised and spaced out as well. | VS

South Africa is suffering from three pandemics. The first one is corruption that has the country heading into bankruptcy, no cure found as yet. The second is Covid-19 which is not taken seriously by the citizens by overloading the taxis and not following safety rules. The third is GBV with numbers increasing after lifting the alcohol ban. The government has serious work on its hands to rid the country of these pandemics.

We can see that the taxi industry and unions rule. Santaco has shown the government its middle finger and the taxi bosses have taken the law into their own hands. No sign of Bheki Cele and his police service. These guys are too busy stealing booze and cigarettes when they are not sleeping. Unions are calling on anyone and everyone to create havoc, often referred to as striking. God save SA.

Angie Motshekga in charge of education. I think someone made a mistake or we are all missing something she has! Get my drift? She does not have what it takes. Sorry! | Parks

ODDS AND ENDS

If any cop has no name badge it means that he has something to hide. If any commander finds one without a badge he or she should be given a week’s unpaid leave. The straight cops have their badges on at all times, but the rotten ones no. | Joe Soap

It is very sad that ethekwini Municipality management does nothing regarding the poor quality refuse bags that are handed to residents. I’m in disbelief that our bread plastic is of better quality than the refuse bag with comparison to the weight handled. How are we residents going to tolerate this kind of service from the municipality.

Telkom’s supposedly new cordless desk telephone is a useless piece of equipment that was designed and sold by some BEE fly-by-night. The consumers were forced into giving up the landline phones which worked so well and were substituted by these poor and substandard innovations. These new phones become loud and then go soft and it’s just a rip-off paying so much. I have decided to hand in these phones and Telkom will be the loser. Just another useless SOE Telkom.

Why are the libraries not opening? How are they different from a supermarket opening? Social distancing can very easily be done. Book covers can be wiped down with a sanitised cloth.
