Dismissal plan

MEXICO CITY: Education officials in Mexico have announced plans to fire 1 255 teachers and school employees in the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero who allegedly joined protests that blocked roads and shuttered schools.

The education department said yesterday the teachers had been brought up for dismissal for missing four days of classes. The teachers are protesting mandatory evaluations and testing.
