Shark punched

SYDNEY: A British doctor who was attacked by a shark while surfing in Australia said he survived by punching it on the nose the same way surfer Mick Fanning did during a contest two years ago.

Charlie Fry, 25, was surfing yesterday at Avoca Beach, north of Sydney, when a shark bit him on the shoulder. “I said, ‘just do what Mick did, just punch it in the nose’.”

He suffered bite marks to his shoulder and arm.
