Parnell boost for Cobras

-

ONE of South Africa’s best all-rounders will boost the Cape Cobras’ bowling attack in the build-up to the Ram Slam T20 Challenge matches this coming weekend.

The Cape Cobras lost by 15 runs to the Dolphins in the opening Ram Slam T20 Challenge match at SuperSport Park in Centurion, via the D/L method.

The attack, which suffered at the hands of Sarel Erwee (103) and Khaya Zondo (67) on Sunday, will no doubt be bolstered by the return of Parnell, a fast bowler and free-flowing toporder batsman in the white-ball formats.

Parnell was sidelines as a result of a groin injury on Sunday against the Dolphins. Ashwell Prince, the coach, and the selection committee, resisted the temptation to play Parnell while he was not 100% fit. Prince said it would have been a bit of a lottery to pick Parnell for the maiden clash of the campaign.

The Cobras will then be back at SuperSport Park, Centurion on Sunday where they will meet the Titans.
