But we must also blame the likes of Blade Nzimande, Zwelinzima Vavi, Bheki Cele, Andrew Mlangeni, Gwede Mantashe, Kgalema Motlanthe, Matthew Phosa, Tokyo Sexwale and others for supporting this man, having been warned several times by Harry Gwala.

Your sins are higher than Mount Everest and deeper than the ocean. You must be punished for destroying the ANC and replacing Batho Pele with moral decay. You allowed thieves to steal our treasures.

In KwaDukuza Municipality, your henchman Mayor Ricardo Mthembu plunged our finances into a shambles. The AG’s report on local government speaks to your legacy. SIYANDA MHLONGO

KwaDukuza THE letter from Roland Appelgreen headed “Disgusted at DA’s hounding of De Lille” (Daily News, June 5), graphically exposes the deep-seated racism that exists in the DA.

Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille has been hounded, harassed and had her membership terminated because she had stated in a radio interview that she would walk away from the DA after she had cleared her name.

Yet eThekwini councillor Nicole Graham, who had leaked sensitive party infor- mation, was not only just given a slap on the wrist, but elevated to caucus leader.

If Graham had been a member of any other political party, she would have been instantly expelled.

But in the DA, if you are white and female, you are a privileged and protected member.

The DA boasts about fairness, yet it practises double standards.

The DA needs to explain to the electorate why De Lille is hounded for merely express- ing an intention, while Graham, who betrayed the trust of the DA, has been promoted to the caucus leadership in the eThekwini Municipality.

A lucid explanation is what the public requires. Organisations must not interpret rules and regulations to favour certain people and punish others.

It seems De Lille has served her purpose in making Cape Town perhaps the finest-run city in the republic, and now has to be removed at any cost. PETER OGLE
