POLICE units were immediately dispatched to a home in Carrington Road on Friday afternoon after a man called the police and informed them that he had kidnapped a 12-year-old girl, ‘Catherine’, and demanded a R600 000 ransom for her release. The 18-year-old youth made several calls to the police informing them of what harm would befall the girl if the ransom was not paid.
