Bad news for LVG as Kane snubs United

- SPORTS CORRESPONDENT IN LONDON

HARRY Kane has snubbed Manchester United by revealing he sees his future at Tottenham Hotspur.

The England centre forward is a target for United this summer and has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

But after scoring his 50th Spurs goal from the penalty spot to earn his team a 2-2 draw with Leicester at White Hart Lane in the FA Cup on Sunday, the 22-year-old revealed he has no plans to go anywhere.

Asked if he sees his long-term future at Tottenham, Kane said: “Yeah, definitely. There are always going to be rumours flying around but I’m happy here. The club is in good shape, we have a great future and I’m raring to go, so we will see what happens. We have got a lot of young players who are getting better with each game and that is all we have got to do — keep working hard.”

Kane began Sunday’s game on the bench as manager Mauricio Pochettino rested some star players ahead of the resumption of Premier League action — also against Leicester — at White Hart Lane today. But Kane came on midway through the second half and saved the game with his 89th-minute spot-kick.

“It is down to the manager who he picks,” he said. “When I was on the bench I was just hoping I could make an impact. I was always going to take the penalty.

“Scoring a penalty in the last minute to keep your team in the cup; it is what football is all about.”

Kane has played pretty much non-stop for two years and is showing no signs of physical frailty as he heads into a six-month period that will culminate in the European Championship finals with England.

“I think my fitness is down to the staff at Tottenham,” said Kane.

“They condition every training session, they plan it out on what players need. They are also not afraid to take risks and it has been working for us.” – Daily Mail
