KIMBERLEY The feast of Corpus Christi, which honours the presence of the body (corpus) of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist, will be celebrated by St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral on Sunday with a procession through the town.

The celebration will start with Mass at the cathedral at 9am, followed by the procession through the city’s CBD.

Administrator of the Cathedral, Father Victor Tlholo, explained that the aim of the procession was to bring Jesus, in the form of the corpus, out to those people who did not normally encounter Him.

“We will also be praying for the streets of Kimberley.”

The feast is often celebrated with a parade through the streets.
