Woman bust with mandrax

A 42-YEAR-old Hartswater woman is facing a charge of dealing in drugs after she was found in possession of mandrax as well as an undisclosed amount of money yesterday.

Police spokesperson, Captain Olebogeng Tawana, said the woman was arrested after the police received a tip-off.

“The arrest was effected after the police received information about a woman who was standing next to a certain retail shop in the Hartswater CBD. The woman was suspected to be in possession of drugs. Police reacted promptly and the suspect was found in possession of 70 mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect will appear before the Hartswater Magistrate’s Court on June 23 on a charge of dealing in drugs,” Tawana said.
