Car rolls on N12

- NORMA WILDENBOER STAFF REPORTER

A WOMAN is believed to have died following an accident outside Kimberley on Sunday night.

The accident occurred on the N12, about 45 kilometres outside Kimberley, when a vehicle travelling to Warrenton apparently veered off the road and rolled at around 6pm on Sunday.

According to Netcare 911, its crews assessed and attended to the three occupants of the vehicle. One male sustained moderate to serious injuries including a fracture to his left arm and one female had sustained moderate injuries.

The third victim, believed to be in her mid-twenties, was apparently in the back seat of the car and was ejected when the car rolled.

“She sustained a range of injuries and her condition was rapidly deteriorating on the scene. She subsequently went into cardiac arrest and was resuscitated by the team following their protocols, including CPR and administration of medical drugs. She was attended to by a Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic and placed on a ventilator. A short while afterwards, the woman’s pulse returned. She remained in a critical condition. All three of the injured were transported by Netcare 911 ambulances to hospital for further assessment and care,” Netcare 911 spokesperson, Nick Dollman, said yesterday .

However, it is believed that the young woman died in hospital only hours later.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sergio Kock, was yesterday unable to provide any further information on the accident.
