ANC in NC to hold lekgotla
THE ANC in the Northern Cape will hold its mid-term lekgotla from this morning in an effort to improve the public services that the ruling party provides in the Province.
The meeting will be attended by the ANC’s various leagues, its alliance partners, National Executive Committee members deployed to the Province, the director-general, heads of departments as well as heads of ministries, members of the provincial legislature, members of Parliament, members of the National Council of Provinces and executive and district mayors.
According to ANC provincial secretary, Deshi Ngxanga, the twoday lekgotla, which will take place at the Horseshoe Motel, will include discussions and possible resolutions on how to strengthen the work of government in response to the National Development Plan and the resolutions taken at various conferences and structures of the party.
“There will also be discussions on how to effectively deal with unemployment, especially amongst young people and women in the Province,” Ngxanga said. “Concrete proposals will be put forward on how to address this scourge.
“We will also be critically assessing the general state of governance in the entire Province and check on the progress made with regard to the resolutions taken at the provincial Lekgotla in February.”
