Call on new ANC leaders to fix divisions

- BENIDA PHILLIPS STAFF REPORTER

THE SA National Civic Organisation (Sanco) in the Frances Baard district sent a congratulatory message to the newly-elected ANC Frances Baard Regional Executive Committee (REC) and urged it to work on fixing divisions within the organisations.

The regional secretary of Sanco, Olaotse Motebe, also pledged the organisation’s full support for the ANC.

“We implore the new leadership to work towards united, active alliance programmes and forums in the region and social cohesion in our society. Sanco commits to working together with the ANC regional leadership to advance the radical economic transformation agenda, job creation, poverty eradication and service delivery,” said Motebe.

Motebe added that they are planning a meeting with the Frances Baard REC to address a number of matters concerning community members in the district.

“Matters to be addressed include discussions on how to strengthen the relationship between Sanco and the ANC in the region with mutual respect and recognition. We will also explain our opposition to the possible high electricity tariff increase by Nersa and municipalities. Sol Plaatje already has the highest tariffs in the country.

“We will also pledge our support for the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.

“The fight against the abuse of the vulnerable is not one we should oppose once a year, but every day in this country,” said Motebe.
