NCC determined to climb up one-day and three-day logs

FREE STATE will be hosting Northern Cape Cricket (NCC) at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein from today until Saturday in a Sunfoil threeday fixture and a CSA Provincial Cup one-day challenge match on Sunday.

Northern Cape have had a relatively poor season in both the three-day and oneday competitions winning only one match from a total of eight outings. They have gone on to lose four and draw three in the three-day format, while winning only one. In the shorter format they have lost five one-dayers and had two games end with no result.

According to the official fixture list, NCC have but two opponents left, this match against their Free State neighbours being the first of those, while the last one will see them face off against Easterns in Benoni next weekend.

Good news for the Kimberley team is that some of the NCC players have been performing well in local FBCA Premier League matches both with the bat and the ball. No doubt they are determined to carry their improved form into their last two fixtures and take themselves up the standings on both logs.

NCC find themselves second bottom on the threeday table and they are at the bottom of the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge Cup log.
