Pes Porto face top teams in three-way SAB League battle

THIS Saturday will see top dog SAB League Frances Baard team Pescodia Porto Football Club involved a three-way battle in Kimberley with two other regional leaders for the Safa provincial championsh­ip.

Safa provincial secretary Willem Coetzee on Tuesday released the provisiona­l play-off list for the Frances Baard region.

According to the provisiona­l list Kimberley’s Porto will do battle against John Taolo Gaetsewe district champion, Kuruman’s Maruping United along with Union Players FC of the Pixley Ka Seme district.

Coetzee’s communiniq­ue indicated that Safa have provisiona­lly set the threeway play-offs down for the Galeshewe Stadium; however, the regional Safa organ in Frances Baard still has to confirm the availabili­ty of the venue.

For now it looks likely that Pes Porto will tackle Union Players at 9am. The next game will feature Maruping United against Union Players at 12 noon.

The third and last game will see Porto come up against Maruping at 3pm.

The overall winner of Saturday’s three-way contest will advance to the national play-offs where the overall winner will gain promotion to the third tier ABC Motsepe league.

Safa Frances Baard secretary Ponatshego Mondela was not available for comment at the time of going to press.
