LETTER Open letter to Mr Deshi Ngxanga

-

– Provincial Secretary, African National Congress

Dear Deshi

I am still reeling from a state of perplexity that your Organisation hijacks a community event organised by non-political Organisation on behalf of the voiceless, unemployed, and vulnerable people of broader Kimberley. You stoop so low that your party makes a decision to pay bail for the hooligans who capitalised on this peaceful march by looting shops and taverns that provide a service to them on a daily basis.

What precedent are you setting? Or is it because you are struggling to craft even an election message because of the mess your party has created for the past 15 years of Jacob Zuma’s Administration? I really hope that you are not buying votes from this criminals. If it is the case it won’t be surprising because this beautiful country of ours has been looted by card-carrying criminals of your party amongst others.

The purpose of that march was to deal with a mess created by your deployed comrades in that State institution, who turned that municipality into branch or Regional Office of your party – who are unable, even after the 23 years since the Dawn of Democracy in SA, to distinguish issues of the State and of a party governing at the behest of civil society and not card-carrying members of your party, even if they 1 million in number. One to two years ago this paper (DFA) captured a heading ‘KIMBERLEY IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CITY TO LIVE IN’. Your Organisation did nothing.

On a number of occasions this paper (DFA) communicated to us as civil society that the councillors you have deployed are not attending very important Committee Meetings which its decisions contribute to service delivery to our people; the political head of that municipality Mr. Executive Mayor, The Municipal Manager and that Chief Financial Officer continued to allow the situation to deteriorate to what it is today. Just recently when the Municipal Manager informed your deployed comrades that ‘Today is the last day of the approval of the Municipal Budget and tomorrow you are not getting your salaries’, they all ran into the chambers with their so-called majority to approve that Budget without even scrutinising it, Why? Because they’re just there for salaries.

My advice to you – let your organisation not pay bail for those criminals, let every criminal (specifically those who were caught in the act) pay their own bail. Do not make the lives of Law Enforcement Agencies more difficult than it already is.

Lastly you need to be reminded that the other day the Democratic Alliance had a peaceful march to raise the very same concern raised by the people of Kimberley they were prevented from doing so by your deployed comrades who went full force to protect the mayor of your party – not of Kimberley.

There is a foreign national and one of our own South Africans who have lost goods to that amount, give him that money instead of these thugs.

I would be proposing either to the Constitutional Court or the South African Electoral Commission to conduct a Workshop for all aspiring Premiers, Presidents, Councillors and Members of Parliament to understand the difference between the issues of State, irrespective of which party is giving the honour to serve the people of South Africa. The Economic Freedom Fighters did well in the National Assembly and I think that the momentum must continue.

Thanks for your attention.
