NORTHERN Cape High School participat­ed in the Wesgrow Central Schools Competitio­n, the results from NCH teams are:

FRIDAY GIRLS’ HOCKEY

The Northern Cape High (NCH) girls first hockey team lost 1-0 to Jim Fouche recently in the Wesgrow Central Schools competitio­n held in Bloemfonte­in.

Under-16A NCH 1-1 DHS (NCH lost 3-2 in the sudden-death play-off).

BOYS’ HOCKEY

Under-16A NCH boys hockey team won the Kimberley League after they played against their Under-16B team and beat them 2-1. Under-19A NCH 4-1 KHS. NCH boys hockey team won the Kimberley League for the

12th year.

SATURDAY BOYS’ HOCKEY

Under-16A NCH 6-0 Jim Fouche.

RUGBY RESULTS

Under-14A NCH 7-24 Jim Fouche Under-16A NCH 0-44 DHS Under-19B NCH 36-7 Jim Fouche Under-19A NCH 5-6 DHS.

NETBALL

Under-14A NCH ended in 6th place; Under15A 8th place, Under-16B 5th place; Under16A NCH 29-10 DHS in the semi-final and NCH 18-13 against Witteberg in the final. Under-19A NCH 16-28 DHS in the semi-final, (NCH ending in 3rd spot)

Kovsie League

RUGBY

DE AAR HIGH (HSDA) first rugby team hammered Sand du Plessis 62-0 in the Medium Schools Under-19 Kovsie Irawa League semi-final recently at Tafel Lager Park.

• For the first time in many years there was an Under-15 play-off in the Medium Schools Kovsie League, with De Aar High Under-15 team beating Sand du Plessis 42-10 at Tafel Lager Park, and will travel to Bloemfonte­in this coming Saturday to play in the final.

HOCKEY – DE AAR HIGH

Two of De Aar’s High hockey teams took part in play-offs for medium schools in Kimberley recently. Results round-up

Under -19B: (Day one) De Aar High 5-0 Kalahari High; De Aar High 5-0 Vaalharts; (day two) De Aar High 2-1 Martin Oosthuizen; De Aar High 2-2 Hartswater.

First Team: De Aar High 1-0 Hartswater; De Aar High 2-0 Vaalharts High; De Aar High 2-0 Kalahari

De Aar High’s first team were crowned as the winners of the league.
