KIMBERLEY doctors have expressed their fear that the underground market for illegal abortions in the city has reached unprecedented proportions. According to one private practitioner, the high rate of unwanted pregnancies in the city – particularly among 13- to 17-yearold girls, with an estimated rate of two a day or five to six each week – have contributed to the demand for abortions.
