Parade honours ‘loyal’ SAPS members

A MEDAL parade in honour of Kimberley SAPS members who have loyally served for 10, 20 and 30 years took place at Kimberley Station Parade Grounds on Wednesday.

The functionar­y was the Provincial Commission­er for the Northern Cape, Lt-gen Risimati Shivuri, and in attendance was the Acting Cluster Commander for the Frances Baard Cluster, Brig Tip Brink, Kimberley Station Commander, Brig Charlotte Makgari, and Acting Galeshewe Station Commander, Col Alexia Robertson, together with members of the community.

The event was opened with a prayer by Chaplain WO Paul Volgraaf and Lt-gen Shivuri rendered the keynote address and congratula­ted all recipients of medals and appreciati­on certificat­es for their hard work. He added that the occasion acknowledg­ed the loyalty towards serving the community of Kimberley.

More than 50 members received Service, World Cup and Centenary medals.

Members from the Visible Policing unit, Detectives, SAPS Support Section, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, cleaning and kitchen staff received 35 appreciati­on certificat­es and 10 appreciati­on letters for outstandin­g service rendered.
