DUST SERIES Where: Western Cape, Gauteng, Free State and Mpumalanga When: April to November Why you should go: The Dust Series is a series of 4x4 challenges that is bigger than ever this year, with 10 qualifying rounds in 4 provinces. The first challenges take place on 1 April in the Western Cape and Gauteng and consecutive rounds are in May, June, July and September before the grand final takes place from 24 to 29 November in the Tankwa Karoo. WILDEBEEST 4X4 CHALLENGE SERIES Where: Western Cape When: April to December Why you should go: The Wildebeest Challenge Club is a non-profit organisation that hosts a series of 4x4 challenges in the Western Cape. There are seven different classes which include standard vehicles, modified vehicles and even pipe cars. The event keeps growing with between 30 to 40 participants and about 650 spectators at each event. More information: www.4x4wcc. co.za/#events WINDPOMPFEES Where: Naboomspruit When: 27 to 29 April Why you should go: This annual festival is full of activities, including a long list of guest artists like Andries Vermeulen and Adam Tas, food stalls and exhibitions, a ploughing competition, a mini circus and a 4x4 challenge. More information: www.windpomp fees. co.za BLOEMSKOU Where: Bloemfontein show grounds When: 27 April to 7 May Why you should go: This festival is chock-ablock with more than 400 exhibitors, 30 food stalls, live music, horse, sheep and cattle championships and a 4x4 obstacle course, of course. Bring the whole family because there are plenty of things and plenty of time (it’s on for 10 days!) to keep you entertained. More information: www.bloemskou.co.za OUTDOOR X Where: Malonjeni Guest Farm, Vereeniging When: 27 and 28 May Why you should go: This show focusses on everything related to the outdoor lifestyle – whether you love to camp, hunt, fish, bow hunt or drive a 4x4.
