DUST SERIES
WHERE: Western Cape, Gauteng, Free State and Mpumalanga WHEN: 29 July The Dust Series is a series of 4x4 challenges with knockout rounds in five provinces. On 29 July round two of the Mpumalanga leg takes place at the Ilane Fame Farm and in the Eastern Cape competitors will duke it out at Offcamber Adventures. The third round takes place in September, followed by the finals from 24 to 29 November in the Tankwa Karoo. The series will test your 4x4 skills in a range of terrains and technical challenges. AUGUST HANTAM MEAT FESTIVAL
WHERE: Calvinia, Northern Cape WHEN: 25 and 26 August WHY YOU SHOULD GO: This is sheep country, and if you’re a vegetarian you’ll probably want to stay away. The lamb is braaied, cooked, curried, on kebabs, in stews and a host of other dishes. And when you’ve had your fill, there’s also a music festival, show dance and a classic car exhibit.
