UMFOLOZI claimed a one run victory over Felixton after the umpire called a no-ball for having too many men outside the circle in a first division T20 match-up played in Felixton on Saturday afternoon.

Spectators were treated to a run feast, with 311 runs being smashed on the day.

Felixton Captain Guy Richardson won the toss and elected to bat first on the slow, flat batting track.

The home side reached 155/4 in their 20 overs, thanks to Richardson who made 42.

He was well supported by opener Hugo Myburgh, who smashed 27 before getting bowled, and Phakamani Mthethwa who remained unbeaten on 31 off 17 balls.

Patrick Gregory lead the attack for the uMfolozi chaps with figures of 2/26 in 4, with stalwart Errol Boulé picking up a scalp for 25 runs in his four overs.

The visiting side chased well and ended up needing 20 runs off the last over.

The exciting end to the game came down to the wire, with the uMfolozi lads needing just two runs off one ball.

Rory Moran (48) and Captain Robert Hagemann (32) were the main contributors for the visiting outfit.

Mthethwa refused to give up and kept his side in the game until the very end with impressive figures of 4/21 in 4.

Felixton College pupil Abdullah Mohammed ended with figures of 2/18 in 4.

There is still one round of fixtures to be played this weekend, with the finals set for Saturday, 2 December.

Teams will then head into a break over the festive season, before starting the Saturday 24-over league early in January.
