At this year’s Golden Globes, Tracee El­lis Ross won the award for best ac­tress in a com­edy or mu­si­cal TV se­ries for her role in – 44 years af­ter her mother, Diana, took home the award for New Star of the Year for her per­for­mance in Plus, Tracee is 44 this year. She was also nom­i­nated for an Emmy last year for her role and in re­sponse, Diana pulled off the cutest proud mom stunt – she took out a full-page ad in

that read: ‘Con­grat­u­la­tions to my daugh­ter Tracee El­lis Ross on her nom­i­na­tion for lead ac­tress in a com­edy se­ries for her work on So proud of you. Love, Mom and the Ross fam­ily.’ It’s not just glam­our and awards for the duo, though. In a video in­ter­view years ago, a young Tracee told the in­ter­viewer: ‘Our mom is a mom be­fore she’s any­thing else.’
