LOVING LOUIS
Louis Vuitton has collaborated with the New York-based contemporary artist Jeff Koons on a new collection. His recreations of masterpieces by Da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Van Gogh and Fragonard have been transferred onto some of the French house’s most iconic bags. Viewers are invited to consider these works anew and experience them in a different way. Bags will be available in South Africa via special order at all Louis Vuitton stores.

Pretoria-based wedding couture and luxury streetwear designer Sheila-Madge Bakker recently popped onto our radar. Sheila-Madge takes her inspiration from the natural environments in which she was raised, so we’re seeing elements of the forest plantations in the KwaZuluNatal Midlands and of the sea, specifically Bakoven Beach in Cape Town. We especially love her collaboration with artist Andel Olivier (not pictured) on a collection, which explores their mutual love of unexplained phenomena, nature and growing up in South Africa.
