Did you know?

Your cat’s tongue is made from keratin, like our fingernails; and is covered in papillae. The papillae face backwards, forming tiny hooks for grooming, and they assist in eating and swallowing prey. The downside of papilla-enhanced grooming is that cats tend to take in lots of hair while grooming. Brush your cat regularly to minimise the volume of hair that will be swallowed. Also, did you know that when cats drink, their tongues are so fast that they form a column of water between the surface of the liquid and their tongues? Respect!
