Start-up costs: We didn’t have mounds of spare cash; initially we worked from home, but in order to open our shop we had to be smart on a tight budget. Still, there were lots of hidden expenses nobody tells you about and we were very naïve.

Turnover: We started the business with an overdraft of R10 000, and we’re now turning over about 400% of that amount.
