Take the look from day to night
STEP ONE: Apply plum eyeliner to the bottom waterline of the eye to create a vampy look for a night out.
STEP TWO: Apply sheer plum eyeshadow to the lids to make the eyes more dramatic. ‘Stay away from harsh colours such as black or greys because they can be quite ageing,’ Melissa advises. ‘Plum or aubergine tones are softer but definitely make any eye colour stand out in all the right ways.’
STEP THREE: ‘Add a highlight to the centre of the eyelid to create a more 3D look; you’ll be amazed at the difference it makes.’ STEP FOUR: Dot on a bit more concealer.
STEP FIVE: ‘Mascara isn’t only for the top lashes,’ says Melissa. ‘If you’re in the mood for something daring, apply a little to the bottom lashes too! Stick with black or brown mascara for this evening look.’
STEP SIX: For extra glow, dust bronzer onto the areas that light will hit: the nose, cheeks, chin, neck and forehead.
STEP SEVEN: For the grand finale, apply a red lipliner, fill it in with a long-wearing red lipstick that doesn’t have too much gloss and you’re good to go! ‘A lipstick with a blue undertone will make your teeth look whiter,’ says Melissa.
PRO TIP: ‘To prevent little bits of eyeshadow falling onto your cheeks, place a tissue under each eye when applying the product,’ says Melissa.
