WOMEN OF THE FUTURE:

Are you the businesswomen we’re looking for? Entries are open!

-

FAIRLADY and Santam are looking for SA’s 2018 Women of the Future: three amazing women who took the leap to work for themselves and are now creating opportunity for others and boosting the SA economy. Now in its fourth year, Women of the Future honoured Tiffini Wissing Hein of Old School Cool in 2017 as our Woman of the Future, and Anele Mkuzo-Magape of the African Entrepreneurship Initiative as our Rising Star. These women both turned bright ideas into sustainable businesses, and we are so inspired by them.

Through an independent survey, Santam found that the first 1000 days of a business are the hardest. If you’re still in business by day 1001, they’ve found, you’re likely to succeed long-term. So they created an online hub on their website which offers a wealth of information, and where start-ups can access the insights, advice and journeys of successful entrepreneurs who’ve reached the 1001 day mark in their business.

Every issue of FAIRLADY features entrepreneurs who have taken that brave step to break out on their own. We believe in women, and we believe in women doing business!

We’d love you to enter yourself, or someone else, for this competition; it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Three remarkable entrepreneurs will be awarded great prizes. This year we are proud to introduce an exciting new title which awards female entrepreneurs whose business has made an impact in communities: the Social Entrepreneur title.

The three winners can each select one of our judges to mentor them for a time.

SO WHAT DOES IT TAKE? There are three categories: The FAIRLADY Santam Woman of the Future title is awarded to an entrepreneur aged 30 or older whose business is older than 1000 days and who is on her way to creating an empire. The FAIRLADY Santam

Rising Star title is awarded to an entrepreneur between 16 and 30 years old and still within her first 1000 days, but whose business, our judges believe, will flourish way beyond them. The FAIRLADY Santam Social Entrepreneur title is awarded to an entrepreneur making a real difference in her community. Aged 30 or older, her business has survived the first 1000 days. ✤
