Celebrity animal Koko the gorilla has played bass guitar with Flea of funk band the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The primate is already famous for having learned sign language and being able to understand some English.

The Chili’s bassist was given the opportunity to meet Koko recently and took along one of his bass guitars to show her.

The gorilla responded by plucking the strings in time. “That’s good, Koko,” Flea told her. “This is just the greatest thing that could ever happen,” said the bassist, who is considered to be among the best living players of the instrument.

“This is a day I will never forget.”
