1. We no speak Americano

Starbucks has opened its first store in Italy. It’s one of only three Reserve Roasteries in the world. The Roasteries are seen as more upscale than the typical Starbucks location. The Milan Reserve Roastery has features like a Scolari coffee roaster manufactured just miles outside of Milan, an Arriviamo bar serving more than 100 cocktails, and an affogato station at which ice cream is made to order using liquid nitrogen.

2. Musk, whisky and weed

Tesla CEO Elon Musk took viewers by surprise last week when he smoked marijuana and drank whisky during a live interview. Musk was speaking with comedian Joe Rogan on his podcast. Marijuana is legal for medical and recreational use in California, where the interview took place. Tesla’s chief accounting officer and head of HR resigned last week.

3. No more burn for Burbs

Burberry has stopped burning unsold products and will no longer use real fur and angora in its clothes. The British brand admitted in July to destroying £28.6m of unwanted items in a single year to prevent them being sold at below-market prices and devaluing the brand. Burberry said it would follow the likes of Versace, Gucci and Stella Mccartney, in removing real fur such as rabbit, fox, mink and Asiatic racoon from its ranges.

4. Inditex looks for clicks

Spain’s Inditex plans to make clothes from its Zara label and other brands such as Massimo Dutti and Pull&bear available online anywhere in the world within two years. Inditex operates in 47 markets around the world, with e-commerce accounting for 10% of sales currently.
