S­hell Kraai­bosch ho­nou­red in New York

Two em­ploy­ees of S­hell Kraai­bosch in George, E­noch M­van­da­ba and Ray­mond Pie­ter­sen, who ne­ver thoug­ht t­hey would e­ver see A­me­ri­ca, ha­ve just ar­ri­ved back from New York w­he­re t­hey we­re ho­nou­red as the S­hell Ser­vi­ce cham­pi­ons of South A­fri­ca.

T­hey can­not stop tal­king a­bout t­heir won­der­ful ex­pe­rien­ce. With t­heir tanks fil­led up, so to speak, t­hey can­not wait to put t­heir new skills and kno­w­led­ge to the test.

Ear­lier t­his y­e­ar S­hell Kraai­bosch Ser­vi­ce Sta­ti­on was na­med the be­st Coun­try Re­tailer of the Y­e­ar and S­hell Si­te of the Y­e­ar in South A­fri­ca, which was part of S­hell's Pe­op­le Ma­ke the Dif­fe­ren­ce Re­al pro­gram­me. For S­hell Kraai­bosch to win t­his a­ward, t­hey had to meet ex­acting stan­dards with re­gard to sa­les, con­ve­nien­ce, ap­pea­ran­ce, cle­an­li­ness, pro­ducts, friend­li­ness and cu­s­to­mer ser­vi­ce in ge­ne­ral.

With t­his tit­le un­der the belt t­hey qua­li­fied to go to New York with 60 ot­her S­hell re­tailers from all o­ver the wor­ld.

Mor­né S­trauss, o­w­ner of S­hell Kraai­bosch, said, "It was a great ex­pe­rien­ce to go to

New York with 60 S­hell re­tailers from o­ver the wor­ld. I am al­so proud t­hat we could ta­ke two of our em­ploy­ees with. T­hey had ex­pe­rien­ces t­hat t­hey ne­ver thoug­ht t­hey would ha­ve. We al­so had the op­por­tu­ni­ty to go and wa­tch a ba­se­ball ga­me."

He no­ted t­hat South A­fri­can ser­vi­ce de­li­very is de­fi­ni­te­ly on a par with ot­her coun­tries. "We in South A­fri­ca com­pa­re to the be­st in the wor­ld."

A very hum­ble M­van­da­ba said t­hat it was an ex­pe­rien­ce of a li­fe­ti­me for him, "a re­al dre­am t­hat ca­me true".

He was na­med the be­st pe­trol at­ten­dant in South A­fri­ca. "I lo­ve wor­king hard. W­hen you work hard you will get the re­sults. If you work hard you can go any pla­ce and a­ny­w­he­re. I al­so want to say thank you to my boss, Mor­né S­trauss, who al­ways pus­hes us to do bet­ter and gi­ves us trai­ning."

Ray­mond Pie­ter­sen agreed t­hat it was one of the be­st ex­pe­rien­ces in his li­fe.

"It was great t­hat I could ha­ve the op­por­tu­ni­ty to talk to ot­her re­tailers in the wor­ld and he­ar how t­hey do t­hings o­pe­ra­ti­o­nal­ly. It was a great ho­nour for me to re­pre­sent South A­fri­ca. We did a lot of sig­ht­seeing and we spo­ke to a lot of pe­op­le the­re. I al­so want to thank Mor­né S­trauss. I will be fo­re­ver thank­ful to­wards him."

"We will al­ways try to be on top of our ga­me," pro­mi­sed S­trauss.

I lo­ve wor­king hard. W­hen you work hard you will get the re­sults.
