Zuma must face the music

- Myron Rabinowitz

More than 600 people signed a petition addressed to Shaun Abrahams, national director of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), at the Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre on Saturday 9 September.

The United Democratic Front (UDF) veterans' petition demands that Abrahams drop the appeal against the reinstatement of 783 fraud and corruption charges against President Jacob Zuma, and immediately resume the case against Zuma. They also demand that all cases of corruption be investigated and that these allegations be brought to court.

Jenny Manuel, who initiated the drive to support the UDF veterans' petition in George, said, "Ninety percent of the people approached signed the petition immediately. People from all walks of life responded positively, including construction workers with hard hats who came to shop for their lunch. We will be putting up our table at various places in George and Wilderness to continue collecting signatures. Surely the NPA will have to take note of the millions of signatures that land on their desk."
