Nominate for GBC awards

- Pauline Lourens

The nominations cut-off date for the annual George Business Chamber's (GBC) Business Person of the Year 2017 award has been extended to Friday 15 September. The award aims to recognise exceptional achievements in the George business sector.

The GBC Entrepreneur of the year 2017 seeks to inspire budding entrepreneurs by emulating and exceeding the achievements of those who traversed the road before them.

The winners will benefit from regional and national media exposure and the awards will be presented at a gala function to be held at Oubaai Hotel and Spa on 29 September.

Business Chamber manager Ingrid Cronjé said she has received numerous calls from members who have requested that the date for submissions of nominations be extended to 15 September. She advises that, before you open the link and complete the nomination form, you complete a CV for your nominee, using the qualifying criteria as a guideline on which to build the CV. Go directly to their website: http://georgechamber.co.za. One of the criteria is that the nominee must have had an impact on the community and contributed to the private enterprise system in ways that are an inspiration to others. The person must have contributed substantially to the turn-around or growth of a business, or managed a larger business in a way that has demonstrated notable entrepreneurial characteristics and achievements.
