Graded equestrian show a big success

- Jannie Meyer

Top riders travelling from as far as Cape Town and St Francis recently participated in the highly successful Olympia Estate Equestrian Club's graded show.

The higher classes (1,10m to 1,30m) were great to watch, and the young children were especially excited to watch and learn from them.

This was the club's third graded show for the year and it is growing with every show. The participants and organisers are already looking forward to the next show on 4 and 5 November.

The organisers were pleased with the growing number of non-graded riders who participated in the graded show.

Among the top riders from Cape Town who were in action are David van der Byl in the 1,30m classes, Karien du Toit in the 1,20m and Nina Versfeld in the 1,20m. George's top rider, Cinzia Pasteris, was in action in the 1,30m and 1,20m and Savannah Gierke participated in the 1,20m class.

Roleplayers who were thanked for their contributions were George and Lizinda Tyropolis, who provided the venue, jumping judge Michael Butcher from Cape Town, course builder Brett Webber from Johannesburg, dressage judge Mandy Greeff from Cape Town and showing judge Di Pieterse from George.
