Man arrested for dagga

Police arrested a man for the possession of 870g of dagga at Ngcakani Road, Zone 5, Thembalethu on Tuesday 8 May. The dagga was discovered by members of the Eden cluster police crime combating team, during a search of the house.
The suspect, Mzimasi Mpetsheni (29), appeared at the Thembalethu Magistrate's Court on Wednesday 9 May and the case was postponed to 28 May for further investigation.
The accused is out on a warning.
Acting station commander, Lieut-Col Mteto Sapepa, thanked the community for the information given to the police and urged them to continue doing so.
Police seizes dagga worth R30 000
The provincial police organised crime unit seized 3,055kg of dagga with a street value of R30 000 on Tuesday 8 May at Mbewu Street in Zone 9, Thembalethu. Following this, Nahayo Tiafilo (49), a Burundian male, and Sheryl Williams (30), a South African woman, were arrested for dealing in dagga. An undisclosed amount of money was recovered.
