With winter fast approaching, Kaalvoet Mzansi is dedicated to collect 400 pairs of shoes for underprivileged learners before their official handout date on 31 July this year.

Anele Ngoyo, founder of Kaalvoet Mzansi, encourages the public to contribute and donate towards their third shoe drive.

The eight schools who will be benefiting from this initiative are Parkdene Primary, Rosemoor Primary, Conville Primary, St Mary’s Primary, Mzoxolo Primary, Pacaltsdorp Primary, Hibernia Primary and Olympia.

According to Ngoyo, learners often stay away from school when they do not have a decent pair of school shoes which could lead to them becoming mischievous, experimenting with drugs and becoming involved with gangsterism. Kaalvoet Mzansi's vision is to reach learners in this predicament before they engage in activities that will hinder their education and at the same time to encourage a positive outlook among youngsters for their future.

"When the community stands together to fight poverty, it loses its power over our children who often harbour a false imagination that it is fine to quit school.

Let's stand together and fight this mindset by giving them a valid reason to stay in school. School shapes your future for the better, and if you stop going to school, your future is doomed," says Ngoyo.

With help from Ackermans Garden Route Mall, Kaalvoet Mzansi recently made a generous donation towards the families who lost their belongings in the inferno on Tuesday 15 May in Rosedale.

People who want to donate to this initiative, can contact Ngoyo on 062 894 4744 or at aengoyo@gmail.com.
