Thunder Tour rumbles through George

-

The annual seven-day Thunder Tour road trip sporting 50 muscle cars, street rods, rat rods and super cars, mainly V8s, roared into George last weekend - the tour’s final stop. This was the ninth consecutive Thunder Tour and people from the entire region flocked to George to admire the mean machines. Before the official kick-off of the Show and Shine, an estimated 300 people gathered to admire the cars and get a selfie with a car and friends.

The tour annually starts on the first Sunday of August at Cars In The Park in Pretoria, but always heads in a different direction. During the visit to the Garden Route, the vehicles also stopped in Oudtshoorn. They were accompanied over the Outeniqua pass to George by a traffic escort.

The owners also had the opportunity to visit local car museums, including some private, rarely seen collections.
