Braam Malherbe to speak in George

-

Renowned adventurer, TV personality and motivational speaker, Braam Malherbe, will present a guest lecture in George on Monday 27 August. Hosted by the Glenwood

House Parent Association, Malherbe's talk "Extreme Performance" is a popular and uplifting presentation that inspires audiences to be more and reach higher, regardless of one's circumstances.

Malherbe shares stories from his own incredible journey, which saw him named by City Press as one of the Top 100 World Class South Africans (among many other awards and accolades). Malherbe has achieved several world firsts in the face of seemingly impossible odds.

Together with running partner David Grier, he completed a world first by running the entire 4 200km length of the Great Wall of China in one attempt, to raise funds for Operation Smile.

He then had extensive knee surgery and was told by doctors he would never run again. But two years later, he completed another world first by running the entire coastline of South Africa for Operation Smile, raising over R2-million in the process.

In 2017, Malherbe achieved his third world first by rowing unassisted from Cape Town to Rio. Together with his rowing partner, Wayne Robertson, he rowed the 8 100km from Cape Town to Rio de Janeiro in a 6,8m-long rowing boat in 92 days.

Malherbe is a riveting speaker and his zest for life is contagious. The Glenwood House Parent Association would like to invite readers to attend his talk on Monday 27 August at the Hope Church auditorium.

A limited number of tickets are available at only R50 per person. Tickets and more information can be obtained from Onne Vegter on 083 379 9935.
