Let Arts Theatre wardrobe tickle your fancy

- Pauline Lourens

If you are staging a medieval party or a fancy dress occasion, you can hire the most exquisite costumes from the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre in York Street.

The theatre's Wardrobe and Costume Hire department is open to the public five days a week, Mondays to Fridays from 12:00 to 15:00, to give clients an opportunity to hire costumes for various events, parties and occasions. Manager Chantal Witthuhn and her assistants, Rosemary Petersen and Roz Hill, look forward to assisting. Chantal says the Wardrobe is filled with a wide range of costumes from various time periods and genres. "Many of the costumes are donations from the public - which we are most grateful for - and others were made for specific productions. Plans to refurbish and upgrade the Wardrobe are also in the pipeline as funds become available. Donations of vintage, antique and rare garments, as well as hats, are most welcome.

Please visit and be mesmerised by the wide range of unique costumes, follow us on Facebook or book to watch a show.

"Life is not perfect, but your costume can be." The Arts Theatre is a non-profit organisation and needs to generate funds to cover the operational costs. For more information, phone 044 874 3142 or visit the theatre during the above-mentioned operational hours.
