Hoekwil Open Gardens this weekend

-

This coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday 20 and 21 October, the scenic Hoekwil Village will once again showcase the natural splendour of this rural hamlet, opening 11 gardens to the public between 09:00 and 16:00 on both days.

The gardens offer a wonderful variety of plants, some of which are unique to the area, and all of the gardens have stunning mountain, lake and / or sea views.

From humble beginnings, this year's event will be the sixth time Hoekwil presents its superb selection of gardens. The previous event attracted over 400 visitors from throughout the Garden Route, and even more visitors are expected this year.

Two local nurseries are involved and refreshments will be available from the coffee shops in the village. Tickets for entry cost R50 per person (children free) and are available, with route maps, on both days from the kiosk at the Hoekwil Post Office.

Ticket holders will be allowed access to all 11 gardens during show hours throughout the weekend. The Hoekwil Open Gardens is sponsored for the second time by Lew Geffen Sotheby's International Realty George and Wilderness and all proceeds from the weekend will go to the Seven Passes Initiative and Alzheimer's Southern Cape.

Over the years, the Hoekwil Open Gardens weekend has developed into an extremely successful and fun weekend for all and is not to be missed.
