From the heart of a car guard

-

Christian, George:

Firstly, I have to thank whole-heartedly all the good people of George for blessing us so generously. These are the people who still give one hope and faith in a better tomorrow. Thank you to you, most beautiful people.

But there are certain facts of which people are unaware:

Car guards pay a standing fee at shopping centres and malls.

Car guards are the eyes on your vehicle while you enjoy your shopping.

Security and cameras and with the costs involved with these, cannot cover an entire parking area.

Without car guards, parking areas would become overrun with criminals.

Car guards standing at shopping centres and malls are approved by the management of such establishments as being reliable and are monitored.

Car guards want to be of service to their fellow man.

I would also like to say that we too, want to feed our children and families. I am currently a car guard because every single job application I apply for, comes back with the words: "Thank you for applying, but this is an affirmative action position."

Many car guards are not alcoholics or drug addicts and we want to work. People need to distinguish between their regular car guard who is on his/her job in the same spot and the petty criminal or drug addict who appears and disappears.

Please, don't chuck the baby out with the bath water. Thank you once again for all the blessings.
