Shooting on Thembaleth­u bridge

Police are still searching for a suspect after a shooting on the Thembaleth­u bridge at about 04:10 on Friday 17 November.

According to Southern Cape police spokespers­on Sgt Chris Spies, it is alleged that the minibus taxi with Go George personnel on board was travelling towards the depot when a man carrying a firearm appeared and fired several gunshots at the vehicle.

"The vehicle sped off and on arrival at the depot it was establishe­d that two occupants had sustained gunshot wounds to the legs. Both were taken to hospital. The suspect is however still at large," he said.

Thembaleth­u Police opened an attempted murder docket for further investigat­ion. The motive for the attack is yet to be establishe­d and forms part of the ongoing police investigat­ion. Pepper spray perps still on the loose

Police are still searching for two suspects who attacked and robbed two elderly women near Plantation Road in the Witfontein forest on Monday afternoon, 13 November at about 16:30.

The suspects, armed with sticks and pepper spray, approached the victims on their walk and demanded all their personal belongings while beating them and their dogs with sticks and spraying them with pepper spray.

The victims, who sustained serious injuries during the attack, tried to retaliate by using their own pepper spray and the attackers fled on foot towards Blanco.

Spies confirmed that the investigat­ion into the matter continues and asked the public to come forward with any informatio­n that could lead to an arrest.

Moord in Parkdene

Die Conville-polisie ondersoek die dood van Andile Lawrence (18) wat Donderdag 16 November omstreeks 21:05 in Gholfstraa­t, Parkdene, vermoor is. Volgens Spies is die polisie na die toneel ontbied waar hulle die slagoffer met kopbeserin­gs gevind het.

"Hy is deur paramedici op die toneel dood verklaar. 'n 21-jarige verdagte is later in verband met dié saak in hegtenis geneem. Hy het reeds sy eerste hofverskyn­ing gemaak en is in aanhouding," het Spies gesê.

Pacs-moordverda­gte steeds soek

Die polisie in Pacaltsdor­p is steeds op soek na 'n verdagte ná die liggaam van Ferdinand Abrahams (56) omstreeks 02:22 op Saterdag 11 November in Proteaweg, New Dawnpark, gevind is. Hy het 'n steekwond aan sy ribbekas onder sy linkerarm en klein oop wonde tussen sy wenkbroue en bo sy linkeroog gehad. Enigiemand met inligting rondom die voorval word gevra om die polisiesta­sie in kennis te stel.
